The incredible sounds of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits are blasting out of Bristol’s Hippodrome this week as Bat Out of Hell – The Musical roars into the city and brings an amazing show filled with wild music and raucous action.

The award winning musical is unashamedly loud and proud and belts out all of the greatest hits by Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf from the multi million selling albums Bat Out of Hell and Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell.

Bat Out of Hell – The Musical weaves the classic songs which we all know and love into an epic tale set in a dystopian world where the young and rebellious Strat has fallen for Raven, the daughter of the city’s tyrannical leader Falco.

Strat is the immortal boss of a gang who can never grow old, known as the Lost, and this clever reworking of the classic Peter Pan tale is perfect for the musical. We’re even treated to a devious character called Tink who threatens to disrupt the equilibrium for his own desires.

Each and every song drives the narrative forwards as we see the two forbidden lovers drawn closer together in a coming of age tale which melds the story of star-crossed lovers, with themes of understanding and redemption.

Throughout the show there’s barely a let up in pace, thanks to the use of a multitude of well-known hits including You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Bat Out of Hell, I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’ t Do That) and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, along with the electrifying staging which sees giant screens lit up with live action. It’s a thrilling show well deserving of the accolades which it has picked up.

There are some true stand-out stars in the show with many of the cast given their chance to shine. Glenn Adamson as Strat and Bristol’s own Martha Kirby as Raven deliver note perfect performances and Rob Fowler who stars as the evil Falco along with Sharon Sexton as Sloane are simply mesmerizing and you simply cannot take your eyes off them.
